New Year, New Eats: 4 Must-Try Restaurants Now Open in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza
The Waikiki Shopping Plaza is thrilled to announce the opening of several exciting new dining options! We’ve recently welcomed four new eateries and are proud to bring fresh flavors from all over the world to Waikīkī. From international cuisine to local favorites, our plaza offers 25+ dining options that reflect the multicultural spirit of Hawaiʻi. Big Island Burger
Craving a burger, or looking to dine somewhere that supports local farms? Head to Big Island Burger on Seaside Avenue. Kailua-Kona’s famous Ultimate Burgers are now available in Oʻahu! Big Island Burger uses fresh ground, grass-fed big island beef and organic produce grown by Hawaiʻi Island farmers. Their food is delicious, and your purchase supports local restaurants, farmers, and ranchers!
What to eat: A burger! However you like it, from the delicious simplicity of a quality hamburger to The Knockout– a stack of four fresh ground 100% grass-fed Big Island beef patties seasoned with housemade rub, four slices of melted cheese and all the works, served on a baked and toasted brioche bun.
For seafood lovers, the Catch of the Day Fish Burger is a must try! It features a seared local fish bought directly from local fishermen along with local lettuce, tomato, onion, and homemade sauce. They also offer a housemade Organic Taro Black Bean Burger for vegetarians, and a variety of other specialties, like their Housemade Big Island Beef Chili and Big Island Beef Chili Cheese Fries.

Allegrini Mozzarella, an Authentic Italian Deli and Market
Little Italy has a new home in Waikīkī! Allegrini Mozzarella is an Italian-owned restaurant offering the best Italian cheeses and delicacies- made in Italy and brought to you in Hawaiʻi. You may recognize them from their previous location in Downtown Honolulu, or from Oʻahu’s annual Festa Italiana event.
What to eat: The deli menu features antipasti like bruschetta, charcuterie, salads, and burrata, as well as signature pizzas, desserts, and a create your own pasta experience!
The market features imported Italian goods. They offer dry goods like pastas, olive oil, and cookies, plus Italy’s finest meats and cheeses!
Where: Their new location on our lower level is located next to Stix Asia and is open daily from 10am to 9pm. Allegrini Mozzarella customers enjoy two hours of validated parking at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza Parking Garage!
Haleiwa Town Shave Ice
No day in Hawaiʻi is complete without a shave ice! They make them different here. Enjoy a taste of Oʻahu’s North Shore without leaving Waikīkī at this hidden gem on our lower level. Husband and wife owners Chris and Tomoko have spent the past 20 years in Haleiwa Town mastering the art of the perfect shave ice. Chris uses a spoon to pack the ice, resulting in an extraordinary fluffy ice.
What to eat: Haleiwa Town Shave Ice offers over 20 flavor options, including a selection of natural flavor syrups! Top your shave ice with all the best toppings, like condensed milk, azuki beans, eight different flavors of famous premium ice cream from Dave’s Hawaiian Ice Cream, and more. It’s free to add Li Hing Mui powder!

Where: Haleiwa Town Shave Ice is located on our lower level between Stix Asia and Waffle & Berry. Take the stairs down from Royal Hawaiian Avenue or enter through Stix Asia and head to the back of the store to find the shave ice!
Aloha Hotdog and Banh Mi, Local Vietnamese Fusion
Enjoy island fusion flavors with this grab-and-go option that will satisfy the whole family! Vietnamese Banh Mi meets Hawaiian Cuisine with their innovative menu of hot dogs and sandwiches. Also check out their exciting drink menu, offering traditional Viet coffees, herbal teas, and freshly squeezed lemonade and sodas in a variety of local favorite flavors like lychee, Li Hing Mui, lavender, lilikoi (passion fruit), and more.
What to eat: The hot dog menu offers Jumbo Polish or Beef Dogs served on a Hawaiian Bun. Their fusion dogs like the Aloha and BBQ dog feature housemade toppings like pineapple or mango marmalade, aloha tangy mustard, kimchi, and Siracha. Kids and adults can also enjoy favorites like a Classic or Cheese Hotdog, or choose to build their own dog! Vegetarians can enjoy a soy protein dog or weekly tropical mix salad.
The Banh Mi menu offers 5 delicious and creative sandwiches, including Hawaiian Style options like Kalua Pork and Char Siu, classic Vietnamese flavors like lemongrass beef and chicken floss, and a meatball marinara.

Your Guide to Waikiki Shopping Plaza’s Restaurants
Waikiki Shopping Plaza is packed with places to eat, from the lower level to the rooftop!
Our plaza at the corner of Kalākaua Avenue and Seaside avenue is walking distance from many of Waikīkī’s most popular hotels and destinations. Enter at one of our three convenient entrances:
- Kalākaua Avenue – walk in on the ground floor to find Kai Coffee Hawaiʻi, a local artisan coffee roasting company that offers food, beverages, and 100% Kona Coffee beans. Take the elevator next to Victoria’s Secret up to Búho Cocina y Cantina (for elevated Mexican Cuisine and rooftop nightlife) and Tanaka of Tokyo (for the finest Japanese steak and seafood presented with great flair by Master teppanyaki chefs), or take the escalator down to our lower level restaurants!
- Seaside Avenue – walk in on the ground floor and look for stairs which will take you right down to the intersection of Noodle Street and Asian Street at Stix Asia, Waikīkī’s premier Asian Food Hall. (You can also find Stix Asia by spotting the red escalators at our Kalākaua Avenue entrance!)
- Royal Hawaiian Avenue – walk in on the ground floor to find All You Can Eat Korean BBQ at ʻIʻO Waikiki, or take the stairs down to our lower level, where you’ll find many of our new restaurants and local delicacies, such as Aloha Hotdog and Banh Mi, Haleiwa Town Shave Ice, and Allegrini Mozzarella, as well as Royal Lobster, Waffle and Berry, Maguro Brothers Poke Bowls and Sashimi!
How to Get Validated Parking in Waikīkī!
Many of our restaurants validate parking at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza garage. Park in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza garage to take advantage of our Daytime Special rates and parking validations. Enter the garage on Lauʻula Street and take the elevator straight to your dining destination’s floor!
